The Thinking Behind Interactive Notebooks - 1083 Words
Introduction Interactive Notebooks are broadly utilized as a part of classrooms; some school systems have made them required for specific subjects while in other systems, instructors use them independently. The reason behind an interactive notebooks is to help students organize, and synthesize information given to them in class. The thinking behind Interactive notebooks started with instructional procedures, for example, note taking, idea mapping, and association of data as well as brain research about how students learn best. Interactive notebooks combine all of the research into one instructional strategy to advance student learning. Brief Review of Literature A significant amount of research has been done in the areas of learning styles, numerous intelligences and methods for note taking. To date there has been little research connected to Interactive Notebooks; this study will concentrate on the theories that support the utilization of interactive notebooks. When teachers choose to use Interactive Notebooks in their class rooms, they must be aware of the students learning style to better serve them. Note-Taking Strategies Note taking is something that is used in almost every classroom throughout the US.
